Distinguished and Famous people from Rowville
🏀 Nyadiew Puoch
Nyadiew Puoch attended Rowville Secondary College from 2017 to 2020 and developed through its basketball programme. The school celebrated her selection by Atlanta Dream at pick twelve in the 2024 WNBA draft, its first basketballer drafted into that competition. She also played for the Southside Flyers in the WNBL. The achievement connects a local school programme with the international game, while her sisters’ involvement at the academy gives the association a family dimension too. The school community celebrated a former student taking the skills developed through its programme into international professional basketball.
⛳ Jasper Stubbs
Jasper Stubbs attended Rowville Secondary College from Year Seven to Year Twelve and graduated in 2019. His development through the school’s golf programme preceded victory in the 2023 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship at Royal Melbourne. That win secured an invitation to the 2024 Masters at Augusta, where the school proudly followed his progress. The link gives Rowville a place in an amateur golfer’s route to one of the sport’s most recognisable events. Years of school, coaching and practice sit behind a tournament invitation that might otherwise appear to have arrived in a single dramatic weekend.
